Federal Government workers’ salaries for the month of
October, which remained unpaid at end of the month of October, will be
paid by Tuesday, November 3, the Presidency has said.
According to a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Mr
Garba Shehu, some computers crashed, as the salaries were about being
paid last month, making it difficult for workers to get their salaries
by the end of October.
Mr Shehu said the President “is seriously concerned about the ordeals
of civil servants on account of delayed payment of salaries”.
The statement emphasised that the happiness and welfare of the people
were the cardinal objectives of any democratically elected government.
Mr Shehu also emphasised that President Muhammadu Buhari was
committed to these objectives not only on paper but also in practice.
The Presidency further thanked Nigerians for their patience and
understanding, adding that empathy would be the guiding philosophy of
the Buhari administration.
